Understanding Water in a Changing World
I am an Associate Professor at the School of Geography and Planning, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. My research focuses on understanding hydrological and environmental processes through physical knowledge, numerical modeling, and data-driven approaches.
About Me
My research lies at the intersection of hydrology, climate change, water quality, and environmental data science. I am particularly interested in how climatic variability and extreme events influence hydrological processes and riverine water quality, and how physical understanding can be integrated with machine learning to improve environmental prediction.
Research Interests
Hydrological Modeling
Hydrological processes, streamflow prediction, and water resources modeling.
Hydroclimate Extremes
Hydrological droughts, floods, compound extremes, and climate variability.
Riverine Water Quality
Riverine nutrient dynamics, nitrogen transport, and water quality under changing environments.
Environmental Machine Learning
Data-driven environmental modeling, deep learning, and physics-informed prediction.
